It's a lovely evening as Debbie and me get the train up to Crystal Palace and saunter over to the bowl. It's not too crowded and we stretch out on the grass sipping our drinks and listening to the last half of the electronic dance set by Kelly Lee Owens who seems to have a fair few old uns jigging around to her but maybe all the young jiggers are down the front. Me and Debs are just lazing and people watching. After a couple more drinks Jungle hit the stage and as the sun dips down we are treated to a great set of non stop dance disco funk magic. They are a great band live and know how to get the crowd grooving and everyone here was doing just that. No slackers at all. Full on groovy party mode. Fun factor dial set to 11. Everyone having the best time. If that sounds a bit Facebook smugness then yeah if I used social media socially, instead of unsocially, this would be all over it. Even the overflowing urinals didn't spoil the fun. How we laughed when one guy nearly got a spillage down his kegs. Afterwards I make some friends whilst waiting for Debbie at "the pole". Turns out I had the wrong pole but as I say had a nice chat with people half my age. Mainly about two of us having the same trousers. Or kegs. On finding Debbie we make our way to the tube en route having a can of G&T thrust into my hand by the guy laughing at the urinals. Then meet the pole group on the train and chat trousers, Pembrokeshire and where Arsenal will finish this season. A great evening. Worthwhile looking at other gigs up at the bowl and definitely checking out Jungle yet again.
